Upon graduation, he opened a dental practice in Donaldson's Crossroads Shopping Center, Peters Township. After treating families—some for two or three generations—in McMurray and the surrounding communities, he recently relocated his practice to Southpointe Town Center. Dr. McShane is a member of the American Dental Association, the Pennsylvania Dental Association, and the Dental Society of Western Pennsylvania. He offers complete family dentistry, but is also known for his cosmetic dentistry and metal free restorations. He continues his education by taking advanced, national level, post graduate courses. Dr. McShane stays current with all the latest techniques and receives training on many state-of-the-art technologies which have proven to be useful in all phases of his dental practice. He is extremely proud of his new office in SPTC where he now is able to make use of latest technologies including digital X-Rays—which reduce radiation 80 to 90 % compared to traditional x-rays, and the Diagnodent laser cavity detector. Our office also uses the state of the art digital scanner which takes digital impressions, which eliminate the need for impression material and creates incredibly accurate fitting restorations. Although Dr. McShane receives much praise for his new office from patients, colleagues and many visitors, he is most proud of his staff! She graduated from McGuffey High School and attended West Liberty University where she studied to be a dental hygienist. She graduated from West Liberty magna cum laude in 2011 and took her certification exams at the University of Pittsburgh. She has been a member of Dr. McShane’s team since November 2011 and is very excited to work with the new technologies at On Pointe Dentistry. Born and raised in Houston, Pa. Graduated from Chartiers Houston High School in 2011. She went to Bradford School in Pittsburgh for Dental Assisting. She will soon be certified as a EFDA, Expanded Function Dental Assistant. Before working for Dr. McShane at On Pointe Dentistry, Chelsea worked three years as an assistant. While she is newer to the team here, she has quickly become an integral part of this practice. She attended Trinity High School, and has graduated from West Liberty University with a dental hygiene degree. In her free time, she works seasonally for a flower farm and wedding venue in Washington, Pa. Aside from her farm work, she also enjoys fishing, archery, and ballet. Unlike Dr. McShane, Brittany started her dental career while still in diapers! Day in and day out, she absorbed the wonderful world of dentistry around her. We decided she’s so highly qualified with her extensive experience, we would put her in charge! She lives in Dormont with her husband and two cats. She is a terrible cook but can make a mean cup of coffee. She graduated from Waynesburg University with a BA in Fine Arts. After college, Emily worked as a Car Salesman for a year and sold over 100 cars despite being a small little girl being constantly mistaken for a high school student. After deciding selling cars wasn’t the life for her, Emily got a job as a Barista in Pittsburgh—hence why she is so good at making coffee. After working there for almost 2 years, she decided a change of pace was much needed. Thankfully Dr. McShane saw her as a GREAT fit for the team!
